‘A Night In Bethlehem’

This is an event for the entire family. We setup up shops where children will get Shekels to spend at the shops listed below. The Shekel is the money that was used in ancient times. Our church members dress up as Biblical characters to man the shops. We also have Joseph and Mary with the baby Jesus in the Manger. We read Bible stories at each shop so everyone can learn the true meaning of Christmas. ‘A Night In Bethlehem’ is a live history lesson about the birth and times of Jesus Christ on His birth. We also play Christian Christmas songs throughout the church. So bring your family, friends, and your children. We would like everybody to experience this wonderful Spiritual Event!

Have you ever wondered what is like to be in Bethlehem during the birth of Jesus. At Westside Christian Church we transform the church into the city of Bethlehem during the time when our Savior ‘Jesus Christ’ was born into the world. Shops are setup to mimic how life was in Bethlehem over 2,000 years ago.

Bakery Shop

Here you can sample the bakery goods that people ate on daily basis in Bethlehem.

Candy Shop

Everyone loves Candy! Try some treats that people ate in Bethlehem.

Carpentry Shop

Kids can see how toys and others items were hand made during these times.

Herbs and Spices Shop

Salt and Pepper were not the only Herbs and Spices in Biblical times!

Jewelry Shop

Children can use there Shekels to buy jewelry to take him from their experience.

Musical Instruments Shop

Music was a big part of the cultural during the birth of Jesus.

Painting Shop

Kids get to paint their own picture using materials from these times.

Pottery Shop

How would you like to make a keep sake with your hands. You can here.

Weaving Shop

No Walmart or Target here. Everything was made by hand including clothes, sheets, shoes, etc.

Westside Christian Church Location

Westside Christian Church is located on the Westside of Jacksonville.

We are conveniently located on Normandy Blvd. which has an exit on Interstate 295.

From the Eastside, take I-95 South to I-10 West and and go south on I-295, it is the first exit after getting on I-295. Take Normandy Blvd. West approximately 4-5 miles. We are located on the right side of Normandy Blvd.
Southside residents, take I-295 North to the Normandy Blvd. exit and go West approximately 4-5 miles and we are located on the right side of Normandy Blvd.
Northside residents, take I-295 South to the Normandy Blvd. exit and go West approximately 4-5 miles and we are located on the right side of Normandy Blvd.

Parking is available in our church parking lot.
